When I was nearly killed in a battle, but somehow killed a T34 Tank! How a Commander can do that with an MP40 I have no idea...
From the free trial game that came with CD Gamer in December 1997, I got my first taste of Close Combat in the form of the trial of Close Combat II "A Bridge too Far", and had my backside handed to me on a plate! I was hooked.
I had been an avid Table Top Wargamer for years, but family and a full time job had diverted me from this Hobby. Then my son brought me the CD Gamer CD and little did I know at the time but I was about to embark on an intense period of involvement in the Game, not just as a Gamer but professionally, culminating in the personal development of 'Cross of Iron' as well as a number of versions for the United States Marine Corps and the RAF Regiment in the UK.
Now retired, I am planning a VLOG on YouTube about my experiences, and this Web Site where you can find Media, Documents, Downloads, and a variety of Resources about the Close Combat Games, focusing particularly on Cross of Iron.
Please take a moment to check out the 'About' Page where you will find a bit more information about how I got into Close Combat, the online scene in the early days with enthusiastic Players, Clans, and Modding Communities, and how I came to end up working professionally developing Close Combat for the USMC, RAF Regiment, and my favourite of all, Cross of Iron.
