The Trial installation of the very first Close Combat Game is available in the Downloads Section.
You can find a README including with the Link there as there are some issues you need to be aware of if you want to run this Legacy software on modern systems, which it will do, as it was designed to run on Windows 95!
As with all the Trial Versions, you get to play a single battle, but that will let you experience the flavour of what a Close Combat engagement is like, but what it cannot do is give you the experience of following your Battle Group through Operations and Campaigns, and tracks your Soldiers and Units as they perform heroically, surrender, or worse. All have names, and all are under your command.
While the graphics are rather dated, the game play reveals the excellent morale modelling that still makes Close Combat one of the best tactical simulation you can find.
